Financial Planning Workshop of LARPIS IA

September 9, 2021 at Pavilion, Watergate, Butuan City, a one-day Financial Planning Workshop was successfully conducted to assist the IAs in preparing of their CY 2022 IA Financial Plan. As part of the program, Modified IMT Contract Agreement was also reviewed especially on the percentage allocation of their IA Compensations/Incentives.

This workshop was attended by all IA Presidents and Treasurers of nineteen (19) IAs of LARPIS with the presence of NIA Institutional Development Unit & Operation and Maintenance Staff of ASDI IMO as Facilitators. This activity was directed not only in preparation of IAs proposed Financial Plans, but also in the formulation of their Financial Policies, Guidelines and Procedures pertaining to Cash.

NIA Caraga launch Grievance Mechanism

For straight two (2) days, Acting Regional Manager June Nathaniel S. Plaza visited the Umayam River Irrigation Project (URIP) located in La Paz, Agusan del Sur and Simulao River Irrigation System (SRIS) in Trento, Agusan del Sur on August 4-5, 2021 to meet the farmers in the area.

 

The meeting was conducted to launch the Grievance Mechanism in the region with tag the line “Ang imong Suhestiyon o Reklamo dakong tabang sa among pagserbisyo” where our farmers could easily convey their comments, suggestions and concerns. This initiative is one of the best practices of Jalaur River Multipurpose Project (JRMP) in Iloilo City.

RM Plaza said during the meeting that this initiative will not only address the concerns of the farmers, but also to strengthen its partnership. He also added that the actions to be taken should have a timeline/duration, so that equipments in the region will be scheduled and all concerns and requests will be granted.

System Heads, Engr. Peter P. Pablo of URIP and Mr. Ian Eseromar  Caballes of SRIS presented the profile of the system and Engr. Wilson S. Nazareta, Acting ADS IMO Manager, also presented the projects within the area.

During open forum, farmers expressed their concerns to improve their system and they were optimistic of the new strategy. The NIA Caraga management appeal that the office should be given a chance to perform under the new leadership.

MEETING RE: STATUS OF FORCE ACCOUNT WORKS

NIA Caraga Acting Regional Manager June Nathaniel S. Plaza call a meeting to see the greater pictures of the Force Account Works in the region to monitor its status and ensure that their completion will be fast tracked. NIA CARAGA MANAGEMENT TURNOVER

Presided by NIA Administrator Gen Ricardo R Visaya, Outgoing Acting Regional Manager Estelita S. Sumile handed over the duties and responsibilities to Incoming Acting Regional Manager Engr. June Nathaniel S. Plaza held in NIA Caraga Conference Room, Bancasi, Butuan City on July 7, 2021.

The ceremony was successfully conducted and witnessed by the NIA Top Management Officials MGen Romeo G Gan, Deputy Administrator for Administrative and Finance Sector and Ms. Eden Victoria C. Selva, PAIS Acting Department Head who joined thru virtual. The NIA Caraga management and staff also attended the ceremony to support both officials.

“She is not perfect, but in time of challenges and problems that the region encountered in implementing the different programmed activities, still they managed to succeed” Outgoing Official, Engr. Sumile said during her speech.

The returning son of Caraga, Incoming Official Engr. Plaza accepted the challenge as Acting Regional Manager of NIA Caraga. He is also honored to be chosen to lead the region and he expressed during his message that it is a huge responsibility, but with his experiences he has enough know-how to handle a bigger coverage of supervision.

Both officials were thankful to NIA Caraga for their support and cooperation.
