NIA Caraga launch Grievance Mechanism

For straight two (2) days, Acting Regional Manager June Nathaniel S. Plaza visited the Umayam River Irrigation Project (URIP) located in La Paz, Agusan del Sur and Simulao River Irrigation System (SRIS) in Trento, Agusan del Sur on August 4-5, 2021 to meet the farmers in the area.

 

The meeting was conducted to launch the Grievance Mechanism in the region with tag the line “Ang imong Suhestiyon o Reklamo dakong tabang sa among pagserbisyo” where our farmers could easily convey their comments, suggestions and concerns. This initiative is one of the best practices of Jalaur River Multipurpose Project (JRMP) in Iloilo City.

RM Plaza said during the meeting that this initiative will not only address the concerns of the farmers, but also to strengthen its partnership. He also added that the actions to be taken should have a timeline/duration, so that equipments in the region will be scheduled and all concerns and requests will be granted.

System Heads, Engr. Peter P. Pablo of URIP and Mr. Ian Eseromar  Caballes of SRIS presented the profile of the system and Engr. Wilson S. Nazareta, Acting ADS IMO Manager, also presented the projects within the area.

During open forum, farmers expressed their concerns to improve their system and they were optimistic of the new strategy. The NIA Caraga management appeal that the office should be given a chance to perform under the new leadership.
