HARVEST PROGRESS UPDATES OF THE ONGOING RICE CONTRACT FARMING PROGRAM OF NIA CARAGA

The average yield of fresh palay as of August 5, 2024 reached 5.16 metric tons per hectare. This proves that it exceeded its target, going beyond what is expected to happen, as this is a testament that both NIA and the local farmers have been working tirelessly to produce the staple food for our local consumers.

The Rice Contract Farming Program was launched by the National Irrigation Administration Caraga, a government-owned, controlled corporation. The program's aim is to assist our local farmers in earning additional income from the regular rice cropping that they can conduct on an annual basis, which will help alleviate poverty and the reduction of hunger in the region.
