TSAG/ SECTOR COORDINATION MEETINGS FOR CABADBARAN-TAGUIBO IRRIGATION SYSTEM (CABTRIS) AND AGUSAN DEL NORTE COMMUNAL IRRIGATION SYSTEM IRRIGATOR'S ASSOCIATION (IAS)

In the morning, 14 IAs gather at CABTRIS Conference Hall in Sanghan, Cabadbaran City, while 60 IAs gather at Balai San Roque Restaurant in San Roque, Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte. These are undertaken to consolidate all farmers' sentiments across their agricultural coverage area.

These ongoing efforts of NIA-Caraga, under Regional Manager June Nathaniel S. Plaza's stewardship, to engage with farmers / irrigators and ensure they will receive the interventions from the government in relation to the primary challenges they have raised and will contribute to the sustainable and efficient use of water irrigation services and an increase in agricultural profit for the farmers. It has been determined through dialogue that the current main concerns of the participating IAs are: drainages and canals in need of repair and desilting; unpaved service roads; the need for IA halls; and the strengthening of every IA's policy.

Hence, RM Plaza assured them that silt would be extracted and piled on NIA Irrigation Service Roads (ISR) in order to increase water volume for the dam, giving emphasis to water irrigation as an essential component of agricultural production. They have already collaborated with DPWH on matters pertaining to the construction of farm-to-market roads (FMR).

Events have been made possible through the coordination of NIA ASDI IMO and Regional Office Key personnel.
